A detailed look at our history and what we do.

1scream’s beginnings are traced all the way back to the founding of RCTLounge in 2007. RCTLounge was born out of the fact that the community of RollerCoaster Tycoon fans needed a solid, fan-run website to share their projects. It was a huge success, and today still remains one of the largest and most popular websites of its kind.

With the wild success of RCTLounge, Ethan and Doug thought about new website possibilities, the obvious idea that came to mind was a theme park related blog, but rather than the standard industry news blog (of which hundreds can be found around the web), one that focuses on real, unbiased thoughts and incite around that news. Thus, Park Thoughts was born in 2009 as a division of RCTLounge.

While Park Thoughts living within RCTLounge worked for a while, it quickly grew into its own independent and unique website. It was obvious that a parent company needed to be formed to house these two products separately.

1scream was officially founded in January of 2010 and has quickly become a powerhouse for producing amazing and revolutionary web products surrounding the amusement industry.

Since its inception, several additional products have spawned under the 1scream banner. ParkPlanr, a theme park-specific question and answer service to help you plan your trip to ensure that maximize your fun and enjoyment, was launched in July of 2011.* August brought Can They Ride?, a basic height requirement tool to assist in your trip planning. Launched initially for the Walt Disney World Resort, it will soon be expanding for more parks and additional features allowing users to easily see what they will be able to ride before entering the queue.

2011 was an outstanding year for 1scream. In September, we officially became 1scream, LLC, a huge step that will allow us to move into even more advanced spaces. We announced Gatesaver in October, our biggest and most ambitious project to date. Gatesaver will be both a tool for the public, allowing them to save money both at the gate and inside, as well as the attractions themselves, with never-before-seen online tracking tools allowing them to create brilliant and effective campaigns both on Gatesaver itself and around the web.

We are extremely proud of our success thus far. If we said we are excited to see what the future holds for 1scream, it would be an understatement. This has been a fun and wild ride (pun intended) so far, and we are certainly ready to see where it takes us from here!

* We decided to suspend the original state of ParkPlanr and rethink it from the ground up. We hope to begin work on it once we finish the first iteration of Gatesaver.
